Sometimes we get so caught up in the idea of being perfect that we sabotage our effort of starting to do something new or continue doing something we’ve started.
Trying to be Perfectionist without being Persistent! Funny hahh?
Just to give an example, as a network marketer I have seen many who waits to get perfect in their prospecting, their presentation that they don’t actually do things that needed to be done anyway.
They wait to become perfect but until one does something, he/she lacks practice and without practice none can be perfect.
It’s like “the egg first or the chicken?” thing.
I won’t lie, it happens to me too. Sometimes I also resent doing something before I get competent in it but the real competence derives from actual doing.
I think it’s just human to act this way but it’s also in our hand to push ourselves forward.
At the beginning of any venture it seems challenging even horrifying but after few times it becomes our second nature. So we all must do the simple necessary daily activity for far greater achievement.
Success is not an accident, it is something that can be designed. And we don’t have to be perfect, just a consistent action with belief in our ability towards specific goal can do.
I’ll finish today’s post with a quote that resonate with me strongly…
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
by Calvin Coolidge quotes (American 30th President of the United States, 1872-1933)
So which one are you? Perfectionist or Persistent ?
