Perfectionist or Persistent? Which one are you?

by Sanjida Hasnin on January 7, 2011

Sometimes we get so caught up in  the idea of being perfect that we sabotage our effort of starting to do something new or continue doing something we’ve started.

Trying to be Perfectionist without being Persistent! Funny hahh?

Just to give an example, as a network marketer I have seen many who waits to get perfect in their prospecting, their presentation that they don’t actually do things that needed to be done anyway.

They wait to become perfect but until one does something,  he/she lacks practice and without practice none can be perfect.

It’s like “the egg first or the chicken?”  thing.

I won’t lie, it happens to me too. Sometimes I also resent doing something before I get competent in it but the real competence derives from actual doing.

I think  it’s just human to act this way but it’s also in our hand to push ourselves forward.

At the beginning of any venture it seems challenging even horrifying but after few times it becomes our second  nature. So we all must do the simple necessary daily activity for far greater achievement.

Success is not an accident, it is something that can  be designed. And we don’t have to be perfect, just a consistent action with belief  in our ability towards specific goal can do.

I’ll finish today’s post with a quote that resonate with me strongly…

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”

by Calvin Coolidge quotes (American 30th President of the United States, 1872-1933)

So which one are you? Perfectionist or Persistent ?

Amazing Bangla Song & Some Thaughts

Yesterday I just listen to this song. I was so mesmerized! After a long time I was sooo impressed with any Bangla song. The musical instruments played here sound great! The singer, her voice & looks just the perfect match for this song & the music video is awesome!

Bangladeshi Media is rapidly improving. I can recall even a few years ago the music videos made in Bangladesh were so poor—theme wise. The songs were mostly  great but the visual presentation was limited to one or two models walking , holding  their hands  irrespective of the theme of the song.

Bangladeshi Musical Instruments

So I must agree Bangladeshi music and the videos have come a long way. And I am sure whatever the experts say about the satellite media ruining our culture, I say it has  actually given us an opportunity to improve our own stuff.

The world is global and now you cannot say or prohibit anyone to just stick to his/her  own culture just for the sake of it. It has to be appealing as well. So I am really very proud about our music & I just wanted to express how much I enjoyed it!

You my Blog reader, even  if you don’t understand Bangla language,  I really insist you to listen to this song. I am confident you’ll like it.

Music has a global language & I am sure this song will captivate you as it did myself.

Thanks for your time. If you have a favorite song & you like to share-  feel free to post the link on the comment section below.

Hold My Hand, Everything Will Be Just Fine

by Sanjida Hasnin on December 13, 2010

Bookmark and Share

Hold My Hand by Michael Jackson &  Akon inspired me to write today’s blog.  I’ve just watched the music video for the first time on YouTube. And it triggered one of my past memory. As I consider YOU (my blog reader) my most loyal thought sharer, here I am writing about it. The event was few years ago in 2006. I was back from England to my home country Bangladesh for a month. And obviously I had to meet my Best Friend during that time. My Best Friend was a female – so no it’s not romantic type.

I am not going to mention her  real name, let’s say she was Samantha. She was living at the University dorm and I went to her campus to meet her after 45 minutes drive from my home. I had a plan for photo shoot there too as the University Campus was B…eautiful! So we had a photographer with us, Samantha’s teacher (who was in charge of organizing photo shoot)  and 2 of my friends.

So there we were, all excited! Gave Sam a call after we reach there, started taking pictures of myself, chatting and more than half-an-hour was gone. Samantha was not coming yet. Called her again & she said she’s coming. Again  wait, no trace.

All of my  excitement and happiness started to fade. I was feeling so neglected as if she didn’t care. I felt so embarrassed & insulted that I was struggling to conceal my emotion. I was just asking myself,  “don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t embarrass yourself more..” And if you have this experience you know it’s not easy.

Luckily there was Sam’s teacher, he could sense my feelings. He was a teacher of Dramatics so he was more aware of psychology & human behavior than I was. He came closer to me and just hold one of my hand and said nothing. And I can assure you if he didn’t hold my hand, I was about to burst out of tears. And after a few seconds that overwhelming emotion was settled. I felt so grateful to him but said nothing.

Hold My Hand – Michael Jackson & Akon Duet

What’s the point of this write up? Simple…sometime we don’t need empathetic words, a shoulder to cry upon, all we need is just a silent touch of another human being that says- “don’t worry everything will be fine” & it does.

So if you ever come across a friend, a family member or your spouse having a difficult emotional time just hold the hand and stay there for a while in silence. Sometime silence can speak louder than any words you can ever put together.

And if You have a bad day I may not physically be there and say “hold my hand”, but trust me “everything really gets all right after a while. So please don’t give up!

P.S Also if you like the topic and want to share your thought don’t forget to leave your comment below :) Wishing YOU Merry Christmas in advance :)

Inclusive Growth For A Better World

by Sanjida Hasnin on November 23, 2010

Bookmark and Share

Inclusive Growth for A Better WorldToday I am writing about “Inclusive Growth” a topic that I got inspiration from Amir Khan, yes the Bollywood famous actor.

Generally speaking when we think of Success, Achievement, Growth it’s only about ourselves. We want to do better for us, there is always a sense of competition. Whether it’s a student in school, a sportsman in the field, a professional – we are always in a competitive mode. As it is distilled in our mind from a very young age it’s a measure of improvement.

Right from the begining of a child we train them to come 1st, to win. We compare with other children and shamelessly demand (if they don’t meet our expectations) “he/she is doing so well, why not you?”And we create people who selfishly think only of themselves. That’s only what matters – winning. Winning by any means.

Watch Amir Khan talking about Inclusive Growth

In a certain  way competitiveness is healthy. It can inspire us to do better than what we are currently doing. But when competition derives from making other less that’s when it gets unhealthy.

We can do well & grow by including all in the process. If whatever we do comes from the thinking of “whom can I help today” world will be a much better place.

As I am a professional Network Marketer I can’t help but mention something here:

In traditional work force it is not entirely possible & practical to think of inclusive growth. Just as an example, as an employee it doesn’t make much sense to help your colleague do better if it results him to take over your position or get a promotion over you. The structure is designed for competitiveness.

But in Network Marketing we see inclusive growth in action. Here we help each other to grow, to get better and earn more. As the fundamentals are based on “if you want to do well, help others to do well”.

We can start the journey of an altered world if we just remember to ask our-self at least once a day “Did I help someone today?”

Thanks for reading the post, now let me ask you, “Does this post help you today?” Feel free to leave your comment, I’d love to read your thought too!

Hay this is me back to Blogging after 5 months! hooh! That’s LONG, yaa I know. Sorry for the irregularity.

I also know YOU (I mean who’ve been following my blog) are looking for a follow-up post of

  • What happened after FLP launched in Bangladesh?
  • How people are responding to it?
  • How are those doing who GOT involved etc.

I think I’ve to start from the beginning…The Launch Day

Forever Living Products launched in Bangladesh at May 12, 2010 as dated through a Grand Opening at Raddisson Hotel in Dhaka.

The hall room occupancy was 1,200 but we had w..a..y more people coming in and later we heard from our Ex Vice President that FLP NEVER had these many people coming during the Grand Opening in ANY OTHER COUNTRY in the WORLD!

Numbers do SPEAK.

We, people from different countries went to Bangladesh to expand our network marketing business with FLP. We were so excited!

Here is a list of countries where FLP Leaders came from
(including me obviously!)

  • United Kigdom
  • Canada
  • Norway
  • Ireland
  • U.A.E
  • Saudi Arabia

I had a great opportunity to interact with leaders who shares the same vision as me- taking Bangladesh to a new level of Socio-Economic independence!

Everything was great! We’re having regular seminars and meetings. Propective Distributors were coming in. The BAD NEWS..products were not there YET! It’s some procedures and we were stuck, our prospects losing their interest and frustrations raising on our (the distributors) part.

And the Products finally arrived at 12th August, 2010. That’s exactly 3 Months from the GRAND Opening! And that was the 1st day of our Holy Ramadan lasting for 30 days.

During the Grand Opening day to the Products arrival day there were many who’ve lost their interest, find something else to do, read newspapers and got negative BUT SOME stayed through the ROCKY time and worked their business.

And we had our First Recognition Day (We call it SUCCESS Day) on September 15th and now here is something you should see

As you can see there isn’t JUST one type of people succeeding with FLP. People from very different work/educational background, from very different age group are becoming Successful.

With the pictures here now you can not say oh! I can not do this because…

  • I am not very educated
  • I have no experience
  • I am too old
  • I am too young
  • I am not smart
  • I have no time
  • I can not speak in English errr! (trust me I’ve heard this excuse too for not doing this Business!) etc etc etc.

The people I’ve met and the stories I’ve heard, TRUST ME if these people can do this YOU CAN TOO!

To know more about Forever Living Products & the business opportunity, please visit my website here

Here is the 1st Manager in Bangladesh, Farooque Muhammed
(the Guy in the middle) and that’s within 2 months of actually doing the FLP business.

CONGRATULATIONS  to Farooque, he is very humble and open to help everyone. There is a reason why Successful People are Successful..Right?

Now THANK YOU, YES! You..my blog reader. Thanks for reading such a long post, now what? Get back to watch some TV or some facebooking or do something that’s not even  remotely related to your Future Success…..

OR

Choose to be better than than. Choose to start a journey towards a Successful LIFE, a Successful YOU!

R U READY?

I CAN HELP….ONLY.. if  You need it.

Forever Living Products - The company I am associated with for nearly 5 years now, launching in Bangladesh for the very FIRST TIME! :D

The Grand Opening is on 12th May, 2010.

Me & my other Business associates who have tie in Bangladesh been eagerly waiting for this day! For the Company and for me it means a huge opportunity for tremendous growth, yes that’s for sure. But what I am more excited about is – to be in a position to share this msg with the people in Bangladesh.

To learn more about the company, the products and the business opportunity, please visit my official site here

Meanwhile Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing (MLM)  is not a brand new concept in Bangladesh and there are couple of horror stories associated with it too. Some people had bad experience, some so-called MLM company entered in BD and after a while run away with their money.

So skepticism is there for another New MLM company and that’s very logical.

I can firmly stand by Forever Living Products as I know the company, other successful Distributors and its steady growth for over 30 years. Please watch the video to know more

Bangladesh is over populated country {BD population 156050883 (Jul-2009)} and most intellectual entities address this as our Number 1 PROBLEM. But what if we can turn around the table and make  our Population our Number 1 ASSET ?

Do we have any other choice – if we like to move ahead? Nope!

Network Marketing industry is all about people. And to be successful in this- No high skill-set or high level of education is needed as long as the person is eager to learn and apply some basic principles.

Getting involve & managing Network Marketing Business  is a simple process- much simpler than starting a Traditional Business.

And the best part people around you will work to make you a success rather than pulling you down (what happens in traditional work field).

I am almost packed up ready to fly in couple of days, so I can proudly be there at our Grand Opening. :) This is a short blog-post giving my thumbs-up for Forever Living Products Bangladesh.

My First Affiliate Check- Such An Adrenalin Rush!

by Sanjida Hasnin on April 28, 2010

Bookmark and Share

Today I have got my first Affiliate Check EVER! And I am so thrilled!

I    have been hearing and learning about Affiliate Marketing – how without any investment and any inventory one can start as an Affiliate Marketer and how people are making full-time income by doing this….all that.

Even after I made the sale and got email notification of my commission- I had a string of doubt in my mind.

Will I really get the money? Is it really that easy?

I have shared with my Brother about making the sale and earning Affiliate income…he was asking, “have you GOT the money..”? You know …then confidence dabble :(

And earning Affiliate income was not just about me making money, it’s for me a whole other level of achievement! A confirmation of my learning and seeing the RESULT!

Oh I should share what product I sold and how much I made- to be fair. I have built my site through a web-hosting company  called SBI! (actually it’s more than a web-host. It offers whole bunch of tools so any beginner can build a professional website  AKA start an Online Business. Like I did this one WhyAloeVera.com Will write more on this another day).

One of my peer in Network Marketing company was using our company replicated website and was telling me how inefficient it had been for her. So I shared a bit about SBI! and directed her to my web page (you can click here if you are curious)  she read my story and bought it the same day! And yes you guessed it right! It’s a sale for me  with $75 commission!

And all I did was pointing her to a specific location and SBI! closed the sale. Simple :)

Now as I got the check today by mail,  I can show and tell the world! I am feeling happy & excited! You can see it all over my face -right?

Just felt like to share my happiness and achievement with all of you.

You are on right track as long as you are learning and applying new skills. And that’s all you need to be successful.

Wish You Success Forever. :)
