Pursuing To Be ME

by Sanjida Hasnin on April 27, 2010

This post is totally personal. Today I was talking to one of my relative back home in Bangladesh. He has a Business, well traveled and respectable …(?) person.

When I called before exchanging the initial greetings he was confronting me – why did I put my picture here?  He was refering to my Blog Banner. I was answering it’s for my Personal Branding…he didn’t let me finish. He passed his opinion – I should take off my picture. Our society doesn’t perceive this well blah blah blah.

Yes ..I was pissed off and lost all the mood to continue the conversation any more. With all due mannerism I ended the call. And after that for an hour I was off mood.

After a while I was counseling myself. Do I really need to take this so seriously? This person doesn’t have a clue what Blogging is, don’t know how important Personal Branding is, internet marketing, web 2.0 stuff are like Alien words for him. Should I take him seriously and feel bad?

Doesn’t make any sense right? This is totally personal and it might not look like a topic to write a blog post about. But I suddenly realize this s****t happens to so many and so often that I should write a bit.

How many times people you respect, close to you or you think knows a lot totally slap into the face of your dream and vision? Making you feel like crap ? Do you know the major causes why people fail?

“People listen to their friends and family” and this is one of the major causes why people fail. And it’s NOT my words. Napoleon Hill said this in his famous Think & Grow Rich book many many years ago.

So NO I am not going to listen to him or take my picture off or feel bad because the way he talked to me. I will continue what I am doing and will pursue creating my Brand. And if some people doesn’t agree with my point of view and my way of doing things -it’s THEIR Problem NOT mine.

I am Sanjida Hasnin and as long as I am honest and true to my purpose without violating anyone’s right – I am not going to waste my time and energy worrying what ‘they’ might think.

Are you allowing anyone to attack your dream? DON’T !

Personal Branding -What & Why?

by Sanjida Hasnin on April 23, 2010

Today’s post is about Personal Branding.

We all  are somewhat familiar with the term Branding and we readily associate it with Big Name companies. Often time we don’t think we have anything to do with Branding on a Personal Level.

But Personal Branding is getting more and more important in our ever changing world. Specially in our work place. It’s now about what & how YOU convey your msg, what differentiates YOU from others and how people perceive YOU!

I have written an E-zine Article on it,  you can check  here You Are A Brand . It’s fascinating to think how by creating a Strong Personal Identity AKA Personal Brand an individual can dominate any field!

I have been watching some very thought provoking videos on YouTube on Personal Branding and I think these are very important to share with The Winners Team Members.

What is Network Marketing?

by Sanjida Hasnin on April 17, 2010

If you are a Network Marketer you might find it silly that I am even taking time to write about it! “Everybody knows what Network Marketing is”… trust me I used to believe that too! BUT I get this same question from so many people that I think I should  address this.

I’ve made a simple introductory video on Network Marketing. It’s much easier to share the link explaining it all than trying to explain over phone or writing a huge para….and by the time I finish explaining  it..the other person already find it complicated.

Why make things difficult than it actually is, Right?

Please watch the video to know What is Network Marketing- it takes just few minutes :)

We all complain one time or another for not having something..that would supposedly solve our problems or make us more capable of achieving success. We have all the reasons why we can not or will not be successful when all we need is a reason to be Successful.

We have our alibis. Those famous “If only…..s”

  • If I was young
  • If I had degrees
  • If I was in another country
  • If I was born in a rich family
  • If the timing was different
  • If I had special talents
  • If I had trainings
  • If I had connections
  • If I had right opportunity
  • If I didn’t have family
  • If I had money
  • If I had new idea
  • If  my partner was supportive
  • If I wasn’t married
  • If I didn’t have children
  • If I had time
  • If I had a job
  • If I didn’t have job

The list goes on and on. If I had this blah blah blah….I would be successful. Focusing all the energy on what we don’t have instead of seeing what we DO have. You think you don’t have some x..y..z to be successful? Just watch the video below. I am damn sure you have everything you need to achieve your goal.

You don’t agree..? Wait & watch

I hope now you’ll try to see yourself in a different perspective. Have faith in Yourself and Your dreams. These are enough to start the journey towards a successful life (whatever success means to you).

Facebook for Marketing

by Sanjida Hasnin on April 3, 2010

Bookmark and Share

Having a presence on facebook now a days is important. Specially if you are in Business. You can connect with your prospective customers, prospective business associates right on facebook while building YOUR Brand and increasing it’s visibility.

Oprah, Barak Obama, Bill Clinton, Robert Kyosaki, Bill Gates all these Big personalities are on facebook—why is that? Can you see what I am trying to show you? These folks are already successful in their own fields–they are using facebook to reach their audience, expand it, let them get informed about their work/life & also for Personal Branding

Facebook & Its Use

I’ve embraced the idea of Social Media Marketing (using facebook as my Marketing platform) . Now wait–I know what you’d ask if I were in front of you – “Isn’t facebook is for social networking? Don’t people think it’s greedy to talk business here?” Well YES! first and foremost it’s the social networking site and it should be used like one.

Rules To Remember….

Now there are some rules you have to follow if you consider using facebook as one of your marketing tool.

  • You have to be Social—means You’ve to be there, interacting with other facebook users. If that seems a waste of time to you—then don’t get into it. Use some other form of marketing like Online & Offline Advertisement, Banner AD, Blog or Website etc.
  • You must be Authentic—tell honestly who you are, what you do. Basically when you create your facebook account put some information about yourself, what is your interest, what value you hold… kind of thing. I mean don’t just have an account where there is nothing except your name & email…I’ve seen lot of those. Doesn’t help when I want to know more about my new friends.
  • Let your newly met friend know you. And oh! put YOUR OWN recent picture—it’s Absolutely Important! Your online friend will have only  your   face  to decide whether you are someone they like to be friends with or not. You’ll be doing a great injustice to your “to be friend” by throwing some anonymous pictures even worse by putting nothing!
  • Maintain positive attitude & use courteous language. If you don’t have something good to say just shut up! Don’t make negative comment—EVER! Don’t get into arguments—nobody wins. If you like something put comment & encourage.
  • If you want to go one step further send warm wishes if anyone is having birthday. You might be thinking Birthday wish is not important BUT it is. Just with your affectionate wishes you can take the relationship one step forward. And you don’t have to worry about remembering dates—facebook automatically generates that for you.
  • Be helpful. If anybody ask something you know answer that. Share your knowledge.
  • Don’t just promote your business—you’ll annoy other & it really doesn’t work that way. Provide value that you know people can benefit from. Build trust…know about them and when time is right share your business.
  • Lastly I want to remind you something….with all of your positivity & helpful attitude you’ll still come across to some offensive people. Don’t take those abuses (You DON’T have to) —under the privacy setting there is an option where you can BLOCK people. Once you Block someone he/ she can not see you or comment on you. I like this feature (Not that I enjoy Blocking people) because I know I have the control.

Just be friendly and participating. I mean in real world when you meet a large number of people–how do you communicate? Think about that & just follow the fundamentals.

It’s the same as meeting people in real world — it’s just happened to be on your computer, from different countries & different time zones. That’s the only difference — you can meet a l…o….t more people w…a…y faster than meeting & making one friend at a time. facebook is a great way to reach huge number of people & build genuine friendship, establishing credibility. Now once You’ve done that right–Marketing should be easy.

Consider This…

Don’t think it’s tricky — let me give you a scenario — you have seen one company offering a great weight loss product–you have gone through their website, saw the testimonials how it worked for so many and the price is pretty reasonable. You are convinced and ready to buy.

AND here you have a friend who happens to be selling a weight loss product too. Now he/she told you it worked for him/her and the price is about the same of the one you’ve found online.
Will you be hesitant to buy from your friend?
-I wouldn’t
Is it fair?
– Yes! Any doubt…?

Just keep in mind while using facebook for you Marketing–focus on building relations and keep your Business for the back end.

Facebook for A Network Marketer

I am using facebook, as I am into Network Marketing- I casually share information related to my industry or Professional & Personal Development. Do you think I have to ask people to look into my Business? Nope! People send me msgs, ask me how they can start their Network Marketing career! Do you think it’s cool?! You Bet!

Now YOU can do that too :)

I hope you’ve passed through the false impression that facebook is a teen thing ! It’s serious ! It’s business & it’s Powerful ! So get in RIGHT NOW !

Add me as your friend on facebook

Enjoy!

Are You Ready For Your Creative Juices?

Ideas on Tissue Papers

Getting CREATVE sometimes seem little challenging. I mean you do so many things online, busy- often we don’t give ourselves enough time to think or come up with new & fresh ideas.

But when you do get creative and ideas seem to flow abundantly–do you prepare yourself to get hold on those?

Are you ready to store your creative  juices..?

Here is the reason of this post. I have gone outside today for some shopping and in my way back to home I grabbed a cup of coffee at Tim Horton’s. I was alone and just spending time all by myself. And to my wonder without any hard thinking I was coming up with so many new topics that I would like to Blog about here. I am sure if I didn’t write those down I’d have lost all those ideas.

I reached for something to write. And yes I could find my pen but no paper! Instead I got a Subway  tissue paper that was left in my bag. And I jotted down all the topics.

You know how many titles were there? 15!

Without any hour long brainstorming! Off-course when I’ll finally blog -the topics might expand or I might purge some.

But I have learned a good lesson. That I need to keep my journal with me all the time. And you can not trust your memory always. It can trick on you.

We all are creative one time or another, but we have to be ready all the time to receive the ideas whenever it pops into our mind.

So next time be ready!

Freedom & Our Milestones

by Sanjida Hasnin on April 1, 2010

Our Milestones You might be wondering why do I put 2 ordinary looking average stones calling these Milestones and talking about freedom.

Here is the story. If you have read about me page then you know I am from Bangladesh. An Asian developing country. Even though I am proud of the country I belong-there are so many limitations we have to face that almost the entire population dream about settling outside.

Here are the list that make us think that way..

  • Our political condition (always unstable)
  • Lack of security ( for life, for women and other  possessions)
  • Traffic jam (sometimes we have to wait in traffic for hours)
  • Electricity shortage ( now on an average 16 hours a day without electricity)
  • Lack of pure water
  • Weather pollution
  • Food contamination &
  • Poverty (it is still a huge challenge) –the list just goes on.

I am not here to tell you all the negatives about my native land. But unfortunately these are the facts.

No wonder why majority of us think and dream of living abroad. Now if you are someone born & raised in some European or American country-rich and well organized -you might take things for granted.

But we…..Can’t!

We’ve got our permanent residential status in Canada. Officially we are Canadians now :)   My husband  has been living in Canada for the last 10 years and after we got married I’ve joined him since 2008. For me the journey wasn’t too long.

But finally on 8th March 2010, when the officer stamped on our passports it was like a huge achievement! We were happy and feeling over the top!

These two stones you see in the picture…I have literally took  from the English Bay beach at Vancouver the same day we got our PR.  These are the reminder of our turning point. The milestones of our life.

We are Free! Now we have the freedom of options, lots of alternatives and resources to achieve goals. And I am not going to take it for granted. I am going to make the most of this opportunity knowing we are privileged.

What is your turning point? Do you like to share your milestone in life? Please comment bellow.

Replicated Website? A Complete NO NO

by Sanjida Hasnin on March 17, 2010

Not Necessarily YOU but Your Replicated Website

When you are promoting your business online it’s very important to have your website. No, I am not talking about having replicated website the one your company gives you which seems somewhat like this www.yourname.yourcompany.com It comes with a preset template for all.

Let’s say you are a representative of XYZ company and after joining you want to have an online presence. So you pay $15-$20 monthly to have your website that your company designed. Now as those templates are pre-designed  there will be no difference between your website & another representative’s of your company (oh ya you’ll be having your name with your picture & contact information and that’s all)

There is a place for replicated website too BUT I’d highly recommend you not to have that as your primary one even worse as the only one!

There are many of us who never had a website and don’t know how to build one. So just by paying a little monthly amount a fully designed website sounds a relief (that’s exactly what I’ve thought) Now let me tell you why having a replicated website is a costly mistake..

It’s not only that you won’t be having a unique web presence; your major purpose of having more visitors on your site will be vastly limited. Major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Ask , Bing won’t show your site even on it’s 10th page…because probably 1000s of you having the same site from your company.

9 Leads in 9 Months!!!!

I’ve ordered my website from my company last October 2008 and till July 2009 here are the statistics for you.

My site www.me.mycompany.com in 9 months have got 2286 visitors (which could be satisfactory enough if I didn’t know that with original website people get that much visitors in A Day!)

What more humiliating is I’ve got just 9 leads (yes! You read it right, Just 9 leads in 9 months eeewh!) {9 people who filled up the contact form and requested more information & nobody joined}

I’ve got 2 online customers who’ve bought from my site less than $30 worth of products. I was paying monthly $20 and for 9 months it cost $180 so my ROI (Return On Investment) from my site is “Zero”

I’ve canceled my replicated website from this month and working on my personalized site. Building a website on your own can be scary and I can fully understand why you would be tempted to order through your company. But as you read through this far and saw my loss I hope you’ll rethink your decision.

A Suggestion

I would highly recommend you to create your own website & recently I’ve stumbled upon this amazing website building tool SBI! (Site Built It!).Even the most non-Techi person can build his site with their step by step guidance.

Beside generating more traffic for your website & more leads for your business you can monetize through promoting some affiliate programs that complement your business IF your have your own website (with copy-cat website you can not do that)

I hope you have got some insight by reading this article & you’ll do the right thing for your business. Whatever you decide I wish you success.
